Fun Times and Dirty Laundry
Being a stay at home mom isn’t at all what I thought it might be. Seeing so much more of my house everyday is strange since I am used to running here and there, hardly being home some days. Well, life has changed!
Staying closer to home is interesting. My pace has slowed a bit. In slowing down I remembered that I actually love doing laundry, and some other chores. Yes, I do. I like when all the chores get done, and the house is organized. Not that I actually have time to do everything even though I’m home more, but I remember how much I like to get them done. Maybe I’m weird.
I think it’s the feeling of clean, organized, and put together that makes me like it. It’s something attainable, and when the hamper and the floor are free of dirty laundry, I’m so happy. One thing i’ve noticed, the laundry has doubled just by adding one little guy! There is definitely a spiritual application in here, but i’ll let you find it!
What is something weird that you like to do? Why?

Oh I love doing laundry! Especially folding it. What I don’t like is trying to carry it from the upper level of our house all the way down to the basement where the washer & dryer are. I never know what to do with the kids (still!). :)
What else weird do I like doing? Paperwork stuff, organizing stuff, and tedious jobs like putting stamps or labels on hundreds of envelopes. I like mindless work, probably so I can free up my mind to think about other stuff but still feel like I’m accomplishing something.

I definitely know what you mean by liking things clean and organized.
I like putting things back together. Especially small things with a lot of pieces… Yet I’ve never liked jigsaw puzzles.

I’m with Ruth on this one. I like tedious, mindless tasks because I love figuring out a way to make the process more efficient.

I like to run. Well, let me say…I like the feeling I get after I run.

Washing(not drying) dishes!!! I like the hot water and the motion of it and organizing the dishes in the rack so that the most fit :) I’m also a wiz at fitting more dishes in the dishwasher than man ever intended :-P

I like shoveling snow. It gets me outdoors. The air is cold, but all the work makes me too warm to wear a coat. It’s wonderful. Plus, you can see what you’ve accomplished at the end.
I also like it because if I’m quick enough I can get my neighbors’ sidewalks done for them.

Wow, all of these are great things to do!
@shelby I tried to like running once, I thought maybe training for a marathon might help, it did not.
@mo i’ll be sure to burn stuff more often!
@erna drying is not sanitary anyway, so you’re off the hook. and i as well love to rearrange the dishwasher to fit more dishes!
@erin i always hurt my back, getting old sucks!
